Bed and Office? That’s a new one…..

Well, maybe not – especially when one considers how the hotel industry has changed its own room layout. I remember when virtually every hotel room looked the same way. Let’s see, there was the not-so-great bathroom with tiny towels, the dresser with lots of useless drawers, a round table with chairs, and a not-so-comfortable bed with ho-hum linens, covered by a bedspread of highly questionable cleanliness. Today, things have changed. Rarely does one see a round table and chairs, and the large dressers seem to have gone by the wayside. These items have been replaced with sleek desks and office chairs, outlets galore (to charge your electronic necessities), spacious bathrooms, and (for those hotels in the know), comfortable  beds. Hi-speed internet is a must have, and apparently most hotels have made up for the loss of telephone revenue with the average cost of internet at $10-20 per day/ per computer (a particularly big hit for couples traveling together).  Ouch – and no printer access to boot (no printing your online boarding-pass before moving on to the next location). With Bed and Office, there’s breakfast, and real coffee. Need I say more?  At a hotel, you have to live by the rules; otherwise, as Seinfeld’s Soup Nazi might say, “no breakfast for you”!  In comparison, a B&B offers more personalized service, affording you breakfast at your convenience. We aim to combine the best elements of a hip luxury hotel and a charming B&B.
